Really impressive draw rate for 8bit machine, comparable with the 16bit versions. Perhaps I've judged the model B too harshly over the years.

The BBC actually had the most advanced graphics processor of that generation. I used to program for it; seven graphics modes and two high res. It was pretty easy to do polygons, even in BBC Basic. The limiting factor on the Beeb was it's puny memory. It still has the best Keyboard ever created IMHO.
