This was the first multiplayer/multisystem game I ever played. 2 C64's, a length of RS232 and your best mate. Awesome.

I remember this! Was absolutely rubbish at it tho Think my mind couldn't handle the amazing 3D Graphics!

I loved SCR and played it to death on the Amiga. I have a copy right here too.

The cracking sound as your cars damage increased will stay with me for the rest of my life.

... I don't miss getting lifted back onto the track by the crane, lol

I put so many hours into this game.... I think I even linked up an Amiga with a mate for mutiplayer, I can't quite remember though .

Incidently it's an example of a game which was equally excellent across all platforms i.e CPC,Speccy,C64.

You could like 2 amiga's with a null modem cable (serial to serial port). I did the same. It was awesome.

Agreed, my mate used to bring his ST round on a Sunday and we'd hook up the Amiga to the ST and play this and populous all afternoon.

He used to keep beating me as well as the game didn't take into account the faster clock speed on the ST, that was my excuse anyway.

A truly brilliant game thanks for the memories.

With all the reimaging and remakes on live or psn these days it's a shame no-one had picked this up to remake.
